I use about half a dozen voip/im accounts on my N900 (like google talk, google voice, SIP, jabber, etc). I use both wifi and 3g to connect to them.

They seem to fail sporadically. For example, right now google talk says "network error". An hour ago it was connected and if I check again an hour from now it will probably be connected. Often, if I edit and save the account (without changing anything), it will connect successfully.

Why the errors? My N900 seems to be less reliable at connecting than my laptop.

Is there a setting to change how long it waits before attempting to connect again?

I haven't found much info on this topic. Has it been discussed before?
