Hello guys I wrecked my n900 at a foam party a few weeks back and I think the phone is had its last legs, I was wondering if I could get the contacts of my phone? Had them backed up on the phone.

I think the battery still works if this help, however I don't think the screen is as it stays black.

Cheers VisTa,

I dont use the n900 but general advice would be:

- Let it dry by leaving it in a jar of rice for 2-3 days

- Then mount the n900 onto your PC hence allowing you full access to your data...

Does it boot?
TV out?
Have you tried connecting it to a desktop?
Have you tried charging it for 12 hours then the above again?
Needs to be dry first...

Do not turn the device on.

I had a similiar problem once, my screen was only showing orange bars and then nothing after it got wet in the rain.

Dissasemble the phone (remove the back, pull the battery, sim and micro-SD out), and put it into a rice-jar for two days.
I let mine rest ~10cm below the exhaustion vent of my lcd for a few days, but anything warm AND dry should work.
Afterwards i reassembled it and it started to work again as if there hasn't been any problem (and still does, this happened more than a year ago).

Do NOT turn it on before drying it for a few days
There is most likely still humidity in the device, which might kill the lcd or more completly, if combined with current.

Dumping it in a bowl of rice should help as well and keeping the bowl warm.
