Hello, people!

I am currently on a lookout for secondary phone with a long battery life and full QWERTY keyboard. Couple of days ago, I saw first shots of Nokia E6 and I have to say, that device looked rather appealing to me as my possible secondary device for phone calls and emails.

Before deciding, however, I would like to ask for your input. Maybe you know a better alternative?

Thanks!

Depends what you want it for - really and truly anything is a good secondary device if it fits your specs!
I currently use a Hero as my work phone, but it's terrible so i'm going to get a WP7 phone, primarily because of the Office integration - regardless of the OS's shortcomings, as a writer having all my work documents synced to SkyDrive then to my phone is invaluable. Plus it's also an excuse for me to test drive this OS to decide whether i'll enter a contract when Nokia release their WP7 phones.

So for me that's a good secondary device, but plenty here won't consider it. It just depends what you want. Personally i still like symbian and if i didn't have the N900 i'd get one of the S^3 devices - lots of apps, great hardware, integrated social networks, great games, great battery life, fm transmitter, Symbian ticks all the boxes for me.

Wait, what? Atrix is one of the most expensive devices out there. I can buy 2 brand new n900 and still have some change...

An E6 would be superb because it is not THAT expensive. It can record videos! (n900 does a lackluster job of it). It can read emails/sync to gmail/exchange/actually just IM and not fry the battery in under 4 hours..... It is pretty good complement to n900.

Because the 2 areas were E6 falls short (Browser and screen size) n900 comes to complement it.

I love my n900, but it is not as good as it was back then (compared to competition, that is).

I don't know how long it will take for Nokia to release a reasonable replacement for my N900. I think Nokia is 6-7months overdue. I don't know how long more I can wait and continue carrying a brick in my pocket. Should I just get something more portable for the time being? If I do the question remains how much should I spend.

Im just gonna hold off until I hear more on RIM's idea of adding bbm to Android and iOS. If that goes through I might be buying a cheap lil android device with the longest battery life I can find and then have that as my second device. Or get an older iphone 3gs and replace my ipod touch :P

E6 looks quite good. E71 with touchscreen and high res. Very tempting indeed. Xenon is missing though

I hope an online reseller such as Amazon or Dell sells it at a reasonable price. I just hope Nokia releases this phone within a month and not in the next 3...

Thanks for your replies, guys! I will definitely consider E6 as an alternative. I'll just have to wait for it to be released, and as automagic68 mentioned, hope that it will be priced reasonably.
