I have all of my songs in iTunes format that I burned from my cds. The music files all appear to be in .m4a format on my pc. All of the songs play fine on my ipod and my pc, but not on my n800 unless I use the built-in media player.
Canola cannot see these songs at all on either of my 8GB sd cards. When I put some songs on the n800's memory and not on sd memory, Canola does not seem to know the album information, etc. so everything looks like this in Canola's list:
01 Sympathy for the Devil
01 Rocks Off
And this continues for every music file with Canola listing and arranging each by the track number, which itunes puts at the start of every track name. Also all music is under "unknown" and there is no ability to sort by artist, album, etc. (Also, Canola lists all of the system sounds too as music files, which is anoying but a separate issue).
On UKMP, the application cannot find the covers for any songs whether on the n800's memory or on sd cards, so it just does not work at all for my music. From the video of this application, it looks great.
Does anyone know how to make either of these applications work with music files in this format (.m4a) or if there is another application to try. I fear that I know the answer to my question already.
