As a said in last thread, Maemo does not have so much softwares but as few that we have, we can find a good softwares and if we have 2, 3 softwares on each category, it is enough for everyone.

Normally, as i think, softwares are to do specific tasks and everybody says that Android is better than Maemo because we can have a bigger software catalog but that everybody wants is to choose only one and this software may satisfy my needs.

I already have a Nokia N95 and naturally, when i will use another operating system, I will search for softwares that we already use and i will find softwares that do the same things and others that we can't do with old smartphones.

And now, i use softwares in these categories:

Instant Messengers:

Symbian - Nimbuzz, Fring
Linux x86 - Pidgin, Empathy
Android - Nimbuzz, Fring


Internet Browsers (Finger Friendly)

Symbian: Opera Mobile
Android: Opera Mobile, Firefox Mobile and Skyfire
Linux x86: Opera, Firefox (but is not finger friendly).

Notepads with Internet Sync:

Symbian: System default app for notes (Sync with Ovi)
Android: Evernote
Linux x86: Tomboy, Nevernote


E-mail Client with HTML Support
Symbian: Profimail
Android: K-9 Mail
Linux x86: Mozilla Thunderbird

Software to Stream Web TV
Symbian: SpbTV
Android: SpbTV, LiveStation
Linux x86: Livestation

SIP Client:
