Now I noticed. So to stream from this server trought API you need premium server? Streaming to web browser doesn't have this restriction?

Correct. Use of the api (which is what I would use) requires purchase of a license.

I just found this:
http://my-tech-notes.blogspot.com/20...m-license.html
it turns out the license is just the md5sum of a valid e-mail address.... way to go subsonic...
Anyway, I'd donate anyway if it is good, I just hate it when they turn your arm to do so...

I have seen a few people post about being interested in subsonic (a music / video streaming program that you host on your server). It looks like it has a pretty solid api, so I am think about developing a player for maemo.
My only concern is that they require a donation (minimum of 10 euros) to continue using the software after 30 days, which feels a bit weird for an open source application... How do people feel about this, and how many people would be interested in using this.
