hi all,
since some day my N900 shutdown when isn't in use. Note, that this doesn't happen when some application is running (e.g. conky), but happens when the Phone or the Conversation windows are running.

Seems like a standby-related issue, because this _never_ happen when I'm doing a call or browsing the web.

I already re-flashed it, I'm running Maemo CSSU.

My syslog is here: http://pastebin.com/buyqvYZb

Any help is really appreciated! Thanks!

Talking on the IRC, this seems battery related. I'll try a new battery.

Tried a new battery with no luck

I tried re-flashing it too without install anything but yet the phone shutdown when I'm not using it.

Any help is really appreciated, but I guess is an hardware issue that I cannot fix.

When you say reflash, do you restore your setting from a backup?

I mean, try to reflash and do nothing else, no restore, no CSSU no nothing. Let it idle like that and see if it still shutdown.

If not, it is something else you are restoring/installing/modifying.

Also, if you have a SDCard, try without it.

And maybe, you said your flashed the devicxe, btu did you do both emmc and rootfs? if not, try to do so.

And, i remember an old thread that i can't find again about someone who had a similar problem and it was just the battery connector on the phone which had bad contact, or the battery was moving just a little bit but enough to cut the contact.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I already tried every software combination:
- restore an old backup
- format eMMC
- format eMMC and rootfs, and install nothing
- format eMMC and rootfs, and install only apps
- format eMMC and rootfs, and install Community SSU, apps

Now I want to try android-n900/meego/nemomobile just to see if this's software related or not.

Did you consider the last thing? About the battery which can move a little bit in its place?

I will try to find the post and provide it here, seems the battery was moving just enough to disconnect from the power contact on the phone and neded some adjustment to stay in place It was only on some occasion and the owner was going crazy about this as he tried everything he found as a solution.

Yes I played with the battery moving it, but the phone doesn't shutdown.

I found the issue!!
The phone doesn't shutdown, but the screen does! So isn't a motherboard issue, I'll try replacing the screen with another one
Thanks for your help anyway
