I got my N9 from New Zealand and I live in the US. How do I enable the Wi-Fi Hotspot.....permanently. My carrier is T-mobile if that matters. TiA.

I think you have to manually start it each time you use it.

I'm not sure it matters who your carrier is - I'm using an Australian N9 in Poland and Czech Republic.

I Believe the thread regarding the crippled wifi hotspot if here somewhere. google or search "crippled wifi hotspot n9". Also, installing n9tweak or quick tweak will fix it. Be sure to read the installation instructions very carefully.

Indeed, wifi tethering is only useful as last resort. Bluetooth is efficient enough to simply leave it enabled. Most desktop OSses support bluetooth tethering out of the box.

Only drawback is that the N9 only supports the DUN profile, but not PAN. I've been trying, but no luck so far

Just to go off topic and sorry, when my hotspot is on, other devices are able to connect to it except my PS3, any reason to this? It simply doesn't detect my N9, but it sees other Hotspots around town!

Care to elaborate further as this doesn't make sense, how does it wirelessly connect to WIFI ADSL modem but not N9 Wifi? What's the difference?

routers/modems are infrastructure vs ad-hoc here
