I've never had this before, and not sure what might be causing it, I've just flashed the phone a couple of days ago (emmc+rootfs) and now the phone keeps switching to offline mode, I can't see a pattern as the switching seems to happen at random

I used to have alarmed installed before the flash, but what I understand is an emmc flash removes everything, including the settings for any programs that were installed, right ?

Also, I haven't checked yet, but is it possible that apps like autodisconnect can be doing this ? or maybe a leftover config file (alarmed qrites to the fron config file, right ?) so I should edit that ?

2nd thread about problems with the n900 in 2 days, I never had any problems after a flash before....

update :

I did :
remove --purge alarmed
then used the commands from here : https://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootf...guration_files

it seems the problem has subsided (been on for the past 3 hours no problems)

Now I've noticed another thing : whenever I connect the mobile to usb/charging, something tries to gain internet access (I get the popup to choose from available networks), any way to check for what's going on ?

i saw you thread but since you have flashed both emmc+rootfs the problem should not be there.!!(as i thought)

How the hell it is possible that alarmed was still there even after flashing emmc+rootfs?? can anyone explain?

I have no idea, but I can confirm that when I removed alramed the problem disappeared.

I'm gonna reinstall it and see if the problem comes back again, I really like the app and it's pretty useful to switch profiles and put the phone in offline mode during the night

@ticktock666,

Have a look here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=61412

Check the contents of /var/cache/alarmd/alarm_queue.ini

There might be some unwanted leftovers in there.

In any case, if you flashed the N900 correctly, there should be no leftovers of anything..

thanks mate, turns out my alarmd ini file was completely messed up, I'm not sure how this can happen....no other application showed any signs of leftover configuration files, nor any of my personal files were left on the device

when I flashed the phone, it didn't work the first time around, so I had to reboot it, and then flash again (no problems on the 2nd try), this is really confusing

the config file had settings from a really old application...so I just deleted it and reinstalled alarmed, and now things are working normally again
