Am I the only person frustrated with Pixelpipe for posting what I consider to be misleading entries in the Ovi store?

It's pretty much broken the 'sharing plugin' part of the store for me. Seems that every sharing plugin I click on is in fact not as advertised, instead it's the Pixelpipe sharing plugin masquerading as one of the services it can forward on to.

I have a Youtube account already; I don't want to route through Pixelpipe to get to it.
I have a Picasa account already; I don't want to route through Pixelpipe to get to it.

Unfortunately anybody that creates a 'direct to youtube' sharing plugin is now going to get lost in the noise caused by Pixelpipe and their misrepresentations.

It's annoying and to me damages the integrity of the store.

This has nothing to do with Ovi Store. It has to do with the creators of the plugins. This different plugins were thought to make it easier for people that just want one service instead of multiple.

I am very satisfied since it is the only way for me to upload content to multiple different places.

Try convincing google to create a plugin for picasa and youtube. While you are on that ask also for google maps, many people want that.

I like Pixelpipe. Rather have one app to share stuff to multiple places, rather than one app per place. It's easy to use and simple, and I haven't noticed any downsides using it so far vs. what I used on iPhone. Just my 5 cents.

I haven't tried the OVI store yet. I do find it funny to be using a Pixelpipe sharing plugin inside of a Maemo sharing plugin.

Maybe we need more levels of indirection to solve that problem. Oh wait...

I'm very comfortable with that approach. However, it's a Pixelpipe plugin and not (e.g.) a Youtube plugin.

Call it a 'Pixelpipe Youtube' plugin and at least people know what they're getting.

Hopefully Google or someone will create a Youtube plug-in that doesn't require registration on someone else's website to use. Yeah, I should be that someone. If only I wasn't too lazy..

We created those single service plug-ins just to make it easier for users to find them and to fill the void of all of the service like YouTube that would be missing at launch for the N900. You can read more about it on the Nokia Blog at http://thenokiablog.com/2009/12/21/p...ns-nokia-n900/

We've also introduced the ability to authenticate an account based on your Nokia Share or Twitter credentials so you don't need to create a Pixelpipe account if you don't desire.

Hope that helps to clear things up a bit.
