it appears, while sharing media using NFC, the Siii and the nexus along with other samsung devices use WiFi to transfer, while the N9 attempts to transfer data over Bluetooth after authentication Since Samsung is presently leading the market, most manufacturers might use the same method in order to keep up. Especially with devices running Android.

Would it be possible to get the N9 change its default behavior by a mod or an app for this?

To be able to choose after NFC authentication, whether data should be transferred over WiFi or BT.

the user guide on the N9 says it usws Bluetooth.

This would add flexibility... I think thats always a good thing
