I recently started using gmail through Nokia Messaging. It solves performance problems of modest, but it either does not show any notifications about new e-mails (in settings, "incoming notifications" - if I render correctly the back translation to English) or all new mails regardless whether they have been read through web interface or my laptop (I use IMAP, so they get "read" status in gmail too).

Is this behaviour normal? Can it be altered somehow? I would like to get norifications only about e-mails that are unread in Gmail.

I set the interval of refreshing e-mail to one hour, so there is plenty of time for me to read the email through other means.

Hi.

You also have to Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on in your gmail settings.

There have been times where this still doesn't sync correctly.

Try setting your notifications to once every 5 minutes.

Send yourself a mesage. If it still doesn't work, keep going to your gmail settings and saving your options again.

Once it syncs, you won't ever have to do this anymore.

I think it's some weird bug.

You might consider deleting all of your messages, save your gmail settings, then bring them all back from the trash.

Just an idea though.

Well, I just figured that there is some delay. Say N900 checks email hourly alwasy at 12:00, 13:00 etc. For any given e-mail received during 13:01-13:55, if I read it before 13:55 (or so, I am not sure yet), I get a notification. If I do not read it or if the mail arrivers during 13:55-13:59, even if I read it before 14:00, I do get a notification.

WEll, I can live with that I guess.
