I've been searching for an explanation on how to disable the PR1.3 firmware update notification in my N9, however haven't been able to locate this information anywhere.

Can somebody please describe how to achieve this? My situation:
  • Currently running PR1.2
  • Don't want to update to PR1.3 as the tracker seems to be even more unreliable in PR1.3
  • Want to get rid of PR1.3 firmware update notification icon in standby screen, as well as the update notification in the home screen

Any help much appreciated!

If you have shell access to the device, you may try to 'corrupt' the URL for main repository address i.e. the first line in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/aegis.ssu-keyring-<yourvariant>.list so that it won't find any update, but:
- you won't get updates for any main component (should there ever be one)
- I'm not 100% sure that the notification you already got will disappear anyway
