Hi all,

I get message of not enough disk space to install new applications.
What is the safest way to make some space instead of uninstalling applications? Which folders are safe to browse and empty of files?

I check Settings -> Device -> Data storage and for installed apps i get 3.9 GB used out of 4.2GB. Can this number go down in another way than uninstalling some apps?

Thank you in advance!

Apparently this is the best solution, but i was hoping i can get away with this only by deleting some unnecessary files, like tmp/ or any other logs from /developper/ partition.

you can run as root in terminal:

apt-get autoremove

this would delete the .deb files that you may have downloaded into your root partition; other than that you shouldn't be messing with anything else...

so that means you don't have them in the root partition then

Anyway it shouldn't number >100MiB from my personal experience...You can navigate to /root and see if there are any .deb files you not the system saved there and delete them if unnecessary...

So nothing can be done...
At least a quick and dirty way to check how much space each installation is taking, so I delete as few as possible?

Uninstalling the pre-loaded games using N9QTweak Tweak QQ should save some space...Please read the Wiki/PDF of N9QTweak before proceeding...

I am also facing exactly same problem. Please let know how to find out how much space each file is occupying to enable me to decide which one to delete.http://talk.maemo.org/images/icons/icon5.gif

I'd rather not go down that road!!
If i can just find out how much space each application takes, then i can delete just the ones that takes most.. Is there a command or app for that?
