Hi My n900 died of unknown reasons (slow death of no apparent reason).

Luckily I do backups. So I exported among other my calendar entry's.
Dont really remember how, maybe with nbuexplorer. So now I got a bunch of .vcs files. So I think I just import em via google calender. It accepts em and all i fine, just that my entry wont show up, birthdays that repeat annually.

Now this is horribly as I am a person that don't even know the birthday of my own mother.

Found this, VCS to ICS Calendar Converter, but it dont work

Help
Thanks and very kind regards Fredrik

I hope you don't mean the "Smart Birthdays" calendar of the N900. This is based on the birthdays you give to your CONTACTS, which are then exposed as a sort-of virtual calendar.

I don't know what nbuexplorer is.

From the calendar app you can go to settings - edit calendars - and then for each one click on it (e.g. "Birthdays") and then "EXPORT".

This will export the calendar as an ICS file, which google (and other programs) can read easily.

Obviously if your N900 is dead already you'd need to do this by hand.

nbu is the backup file. All is in there, contacts, calender sms.

nbuexplorer lets me open the file and export. The calender entrys exports as .vcs files and google wont import it

No, no smart birthdays

Like reinob said. Try ical/ICS files. Should work no problem.

Problem is OP's N900 is "dead" (for whatever definition of death). Meaning he only has that "nbu" backup. Still, I believe it should be relatively straightforward to patch those VCS files as required.

So a quick search shows that this NBU file is a Nokia backup? How did you take this backup? Nokia Suite? It didn't happen to backup the ~/.calendar/calendardb file, did it?
