Hello everybody,

I've been asked by a friend of mine to help him extract data from his Nokia N900 as i have experiance in data extraction from phones due to my profession.

Task: Extract data from the damaged phone.

It diden't turn out to be a straight on task since the phone won't boot up it's operatingsystem.
It seems that the battery were damaged in during the drop incident. Therefor i have powered it up with powercables. It starts quite nicely, vibrating and showing the Nokia logo with white background. But then it gets stuck here.

I try to find some answers by googleing, but there are almost no answers that seem to be fitting this problem.

Would it be possible to boot a separate OS like android in order to preformdata extraction?

Would there be a way of repairing the boot process? Maybe by flashing the firmware?

Best regards!

Confirm how you are powering the device?

If you are trying to boot with USB power that's not a Nokia lead it maybe waiting for flashing.

Can you boot with a battery?
If not use a proper Nokia uUSB Charger not a PC lead etc.

Use this to boot into mass storage mode.
I recommend using a linux machine.
