Hello folks,

I am having dependency issues with my N800, and I do not know how to solve them. For example, when attempting to install Maemo Periodic, I get:

Application packages missing: libgdbm3, libreadline4 (>= 4.3-1)
Depends: Python 2.5 | Python 2.4
Depends: Python 2.5-gtk2 | Python 2.4-gtk2
Depends: Python 2.5-osso | Python 2.4-osso
Depends: Python 2.5-hildon | Python 2.4-hildon

But when I go to install Python 2.5, I get:

Application packages missing: libgdbm3, libreadline4 (>= 4.3-1)
Depends: (tons of lib files)
Conflicts: Python2.4

Anyone able to help? Thanks in advance

There are 2 packages/repositories to install to get python to work. Judging by...

...you may be missing the first 'Base Repository' one that contains those missing packages, as mentioned here:

http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/installation.html

Installing that package might allow you to install Maemo Periodic straight away without upgrading to Python2.5 .

PS:
The first 'install' should create this repository in your application manager or you could create it yourself:
