Hi. I'm not very good with N9 installation/uninstallation stuff so I got a problem.

My question is how do I remove MSN alone or how do I wipe out everything in the phone so I can start over with a fresh installation? Also what's the equivalent of "dir" (Windows Dos mode) command in N9 terminal?

About a year ago I somehow managed to get MSN on working on N9 and as most know MSN is not supposed to work in N9, so I had to do it via terminal and I followed this guide: http://mynokiablog.com/2011/12/02/ho...msn-on-the-n9/

However in this guide there are no instructions of how to remove/uninstall MSN and I did check all the comments through and googled about this matter for about 2 hours with no success.

If you are wondering why I want it removed, well I got two reasons. It has stopped working since MSN and Skype merged, but unfortunately MSN is still on without me being able to use it. So it's just there to take power and have to say it takes insane amounts of power. I think before I installed MSN i was able to have my cellphone on for about 5-6 days straight and with MSN installed only 1-2 days.

So this is why I desperately want MSN off my phone and I'm even willing to do a complete format if no one knows how to delete this single application.

Also to note is that MSN doesn't appear on the Settings.. -->> programs list where you can normally uninstall apps.

So if someone can help me with this I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

'ls'. The commands are the same as on most any Linux system, so you can just look up Linux terminal commands.

Looks like the account should be removable using 'mc-tool remove MSN', though I may have that wrong. Once the account is removed, the phone should not attempt to connect to it. Note that no specific MSN application was installed in that tutorial - the installed packages just allow the N9's accounts system to connect to MSN, then mc-tool was used to create and enable the account.

Alternatively, to wipe the whole device you can reflash your phone, instructions are stickied on this forum.

Thanks for a very informative reply. Going to try what you said starting from the 'mc-tool remove MSN', however I got my doubts about that one helping because I think MSN is just going to stay on and will still be consuming power. I mean it can't log me in but it's probably still going to try to launch the program and be stuck in the login screen. This is why I didn't even try it yet, had so strong feeling about that.

If all else fails I'll just delete everything by following the link you gave and reinstall everything as I don't have THAT many custom things in my phone anyways. Ty again.

You'll find it within Accounts.
