I was searching for a way to answer calls without taking phone out of bag/pocket for quite a while.

The best combination of devices i've found for that is Laryngophone headset, "smar****ch"-type notification device and MeeGo-family mobile computer. But that is too expensive and raw.
More realistic would be something like N9 + Sony SBH52.

BUT does N9 capable of showing Caller Name (and, maybe, other appropriate info) on such device's display ?
Because, as an owner of N900 and Sony MW600, a similar device, i had to give up on such an idea, because of N900's inability.

I will sell my N900 soon, but if i will buy N9, an Android tablet or something like watch-like mini-phone as the replacement is solely dependent on the answer to this question.

Yes, but with current prices on Pebble and Metawatch, it's more economically feasible to get Sony SBH52 (option #2). So, i really would like to know if simple LED-equipped headset are working as intended or not.
