Hi,
i have a 770. Fantastic.
But i wonder if there is a way (possibily a simple one) to update the flash player version 7 of the 770 to the version 9. With it, it'll be possible to view sites such youtube...

Can you help me?

Hi, Italian Greetings,

Re: OS2007 Hacker edition 4.2007.36 available

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone wishing to try Flash 9 on the latest IT OS 2007HE can download Flash 9 from here.

To install:

Close the browser then...

Code:
sudo gainroot
wget http://nmacleod.com/nokia/n800/micro...-4.2007.tar.gz
tar xvzf microb_flash-4.2007.tar.gz -C /To uninstall (and revert to Flash 7):

Close the browser then...

Code:
sudo gainroot
rm /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.soFlash 9 kind of works in youtube - the plugin is correctly detected (previously with Flash 7, youtube.com would show an error message stating that Javascript is disabled or an old version of Flash is installed) however the video is garbled (at least it is on my 770). Flash advertisments on other sites seem to work fine.

or this way, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=8905.

Afterall, you do have a choice, I guess 'Fantastic' is justified.

I have n "understanding" dubt: what does it mean that i'll want to give it back?

The 800 was too expansive for me at the moment, and its design is no better than the 770.

However, i've read that the guide is for the 2007 Hacker Edition, will it work also on the IT 2006 latest version?

I've tried the HE, but i remained very disappointed. The development team did a great job, but perhaps it's too "heavy" for the hardware of the 770.

The latest alternative - link - is UKMP: i've read of that program, and i've tried it out, but i prefer canola.
In what ways does the UKMP relates to youtube and Flash player?

Thanks lot

Follow the instructions here to install Flash 9 on OS 2007 HE. Contains working links.

For future reference, Searching is really useful... there's no excuse for not finding this information.

On my 770 2007HE is quicker and more stable then OS 2006.

If you want more speed, I really recommend you to install the OS on a MMC card (http://maemo.org/community/wiki/howt...from_mmc_card/) and change the kernel (http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/) to speed up MMC access.

Ok, so I need a bit of help with this.

I've loaded up the latest edition of the HE. I enabled R&D mode. I started up xterm and typed in:

sudo gainroot
wget http://nmacleod.com/nokia/n800/micro...-4.2007.tar.gz

I got a message back saying "wget" wasn't understood. So, please be kind. Where did I go wrong?

Go maemo.org>downloads>wget (just search it) and click the green install button and pray......

I am talking about the expression 'Fantastic', not your 770. It does sound funny, UH? The rest are being answered by posts. Have fun
