The OS2008 Install went fine, and I'm able to run most of the programs I need.

However, I have this weird thing happen when I plug the USB cord between the N800 and my Dell D820 laptop that runs Fedora 8 Linux.
When the plug is inserted, the N800 recognizes it is connected with a small popup near the top "Connected via USB", but then a panel pops up saying: "Internal Memory Card in Use"

On the pc side of the equation, the dmesg log reports a lot of these over and over:

usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 18
usb 3-2: device not accepting address 18, error -71
usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 19
usb 3-2: device not accepting address 19, error -71

I wonder if any of you are able to connect your N800 to a PC without trouble. Maybe my USB stack is broken in the PC, I will pursue that question.

Could be a broken stack.

Could be a dodgy cable or a cable that's too long.

I had similar issues with a USB->SATA controller card.
