I am having trouble establishing a proper sizing for a photograph I wish to download to use in my Nokia as a background image. I have no trouble downloading my selected photo or even inserting it into the background. I however am unable to either get it to fill the full screen (as the default images do) or prevent it from tiling. I have tried importing my photo with the same pixel dimensions as the default images, but that doesn't work. Images with the same pixel dimensions don't fill the background screen as the default images do. I have also tried importing the photo with greater and lesser pixel dimensions, with the same unsatisfactory results. Has anyone tried to do the same with their own photos with better results than mine?

Only thing I've tried so far is getting doctor who pictures from the bbc. I grab the 800xsomething ones, and they fit nicely.

i made my own wallpaper and a good fit is about 710 * 480. the thing is - the first 40 down from the top is usuually cut off by the applets tool bar - so watch out for that

jlim: Thaks for your contribution. I duplicated your pixel measurments, which enlarged the picture somewhat, and moved the objectionable tiling just about entirely off-screen. Still, my photo does not fill the screen. Much white alongside and below it. I can't apparently even center the image as background. (By the way, you refer to what you have put in place as "wallpaper," while the only option I can see to modify the home screen image is the changing of the "background." Are we really talking about the same thing, or have you found a means of adding your picture designated specifically as "wallpaper" rather than "background." Thanks again, Jim

TWO HOURS LATER: PROBLEM SOLVED. In formatting the picture on my PC, I found I should not allow any white borders but had to "bleed" the photo to the full margins. Obvious??? Now it transfers fine to my Nokia. Thanks again for your time and consideration. Jim
