This may not be n8xx specific, but I think this is the best people to ask.

I am using a Linksys NSLU2 ARM computer to drive a camera with gphoto2. I normally connect from my laptop using ssh and use the command line to run scripts what I have wrote.

I can easily connect with my n800 to do the same. But I am wondering if there isn't an alternative - some sort of text-based gui that runs over ssh on the NSLU2 that gives me a screen on the n800 that lets me click on buttons to run the scripts.

Any suggestions?

(I am not a programmer as such, but am happy to hack away in perl or bash scripts)

For sure there are better ways but here is an easy one.

you could run your scripts from buttons in the xterm. some info on how to create those buttons you can find in this thread http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=16749

hope it helps
