How to change name:

Both as root:
1. Run "osso_startup_wizard". Works, but i'm unsure if any other changes are made.

OR

2.Run

Code:
export DEFAULT_ADAPTER=/org/bluez/hci0 && dbus-send --system --type=method_call --print-reply --dest=org.bluez $DEFAULT_ADAPTER org.bluez.Adapter.SetName "string:N800 Pimpin"
Replace "N800 Pimpin" with desired device name. Check brontide's thread on using avahi to set network name (alias?). I plan on looking into changing the default network name w/out avahi. (I plan on using my N800 on a "excursion" and I'd hate for it to come up as N800 >.<

Any control panels people? :P

Discovered by a tired qwerty at 11pm and if anyone posted before me about these, please tell me so I can take away my brag .

Ok, for network name:

1. Set this up with your desired network name (in case) http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ighlight=avahi
2. vi /etc/hostname and set your desired host name there.
3. vi /etc/hosts and change the second word (Nokia-N800-51-3 on a N800 running OS2008 51-3) to the name you set in 2.

Personally, my device name is N800Pimpin, host name N800Pimpin & avahi name is N800Pimpin.
