I just got my a new N800 from Dell on Friday. Today, when I trying put in the boxwave screen saver I noticed something seemed wrong with the LCD screen on my N800.

Looks like on side of the screen is deeper than the other. The right side is about 4-6 mm deeper than my left side. Nothing seem to be loose when I shook it. It is normal? Should I go to Dell and get a RMA to replace the unit?

Any ideas would be helpful.

4-6 mm? I think you should measure it; mine is perhaps 0.5-1 mm, but I think that's normal.

(5mm is like a third of the device thickness, that's why I'm skeptical...)

Yeah I was bit off on that. It about 3mm or 2mm.

What really bother me is on the side that is deeper, I can see a steel frame on the inside which the lcd should be aligned with. On all the other sides that LCD is basically on exact same level as that steel frame. Seems like that side some how got unstuck from the steel frame.

Anyhow, I went ahead emailed Dell to see if they will authorize me to get an replacement for it or not.
