Anyone here use Debian etch? I just got my n810 but when I plug it into the USB my computer just locks up and only a hard reboot will bring it back up. Doesn't matter if the n810 is on or not it still locks up. Everything else I have USB works ok..my nokia phone, printer etc...

Try running a filesystem check on your memory cards (with fsck.vfat), both builtin and removable. You could also try connecting with the removable card out.

Yes, I'm using Etch and found no similar lockups.
BTW, the desktop or that tablet that freezes?

If the desktop: you could try with Knoppix or some other live CD/USB.
It's very strange indeed - how does it exactly happen? Can't switch to console either?
Have you looked into /var/log/messages?
