Hi, was just wondering if there is any app that could be used to type an sms or use dialing pad on table while using a bluetooth enabled phone , so would skip the process as using the keyboard ont he phone, thanks.

Yes : Phonelink
you have to edit a configuration file located in /home/user
but then you can dial (mobile phone through bluetooth and sip through Gizmo) and send sms.

you can find it here : http://downloads.maemo.org/product/phonelink
it appears if you search dial on the new application site for maemo)

one more thing as still new to all this, once i get to

phone link uses the GPE contact database and gnokii
You have to have :
1/ GPE Contact from kernelconcepts.de
2/ libgnokii
3/ phonelink itself
you then need to edit and intall the .gnokiirc file (note the dot) to connect to your phone

Ill, try thatnk for the help though, seems a little confusing specially when kerelconcepts.de is in german.
hope it works.
wish there was an simple install

tried to find the gpe contact file there, a little confused, there is a zip file which i downloaded on pc and opened with winrar but than has too many files init, not sure where and how to load.

fredoll, is there an easy way to install gpe contacts, i am looking at the download and it just gets confusing. Am a newbie to linux and maemo, enjoying it though, is there an install procedure or document. thnks.

Install GPE Contacts et al through Application Manager on your device. It's easy and straight forward; importing your contacts is a different story, though...

does not show up in the application manager list
