I'm after a triple sim phone that can serve internet to an n800. I came across these triple sim phones:

http://www.totobay.com/three-sim-card-phone-c2157.html

In searching around, this seems to be unexplored territory. The DA XIAN X666 model claims to have "WAP / GPRS access to internet, Bluetooth and USB connectivity" -- but that doesn't exactly mean DUN is possible, does it?

Suppose I find a triple sim phone that can do bluetooth DUN. Is that the end of my search, or does maemo only talk to some DUN devices?

Here's a dual sim phone that specifically claims support for DUN:

Not sure if I want to settle for dual sim though.

Just out of interest, why would you want a triple-SIM phone?

Dual-SIM makes sense, one for personal and one for work, but what is the third card for?

yeah, i'd recommend steering clear of those Chinese phones - there is a reason that they haven't taken over the international market

Actually I could use a quad sim phone: for work and personal, and one slot for a data only account, and another slot for a chip that works in my home country.

If you're wondering why someone would want a separate data chip, the best data plan and best voice plan for someone isn't always offered by the same provider.

There are also cases where you get intra-network discounts; so it's useful to be able to access a variety of different networks from the same phone.

I wouldn't mind swapping sims in and out in some cases, if they weren't kept under the battery. A phone that can easily hot-swap sims would indeed be useful, but they don't seem to exist.

Hm, I could actually use a 3-SIM phone too. But there aren't even 2-SIM phones on the market where I live, even though a large majority of folks now have to carry two phones (work and private) due to new tax issues with work phone only.

I'm just tired of carrying a toolbelt or bag of devices everywhere.. NIT, 2-3 phones, portable hotspot, modem, PDA for tomtom, bluetooth gps..

One device could eliminate five if there were a dual or triple sim phone that could run joikuspot

(and preferably the phone would run some open OS, and certainly not windows)

It's a sad industry where they've gone apeshit with offering thousands of mobile phones with the same combination of useless frills, and little variety in needed functionality.
