What do you think about the possibility to plug the n800 (or nxxx) to a big screen?

The Samsung SyncMaster 940UX has a usb port!

It is possible, but for everyone or just for nokia?

To use a display over USB, there would have to be work on both ends. The N800/N810 would need drivers (and don't think you'd need Nokia for this), and the display would need custom firmware or hardware to accept video over USB (this is the hard part).

Oh, it would work if you had Linux drivers, but it would be unbearably slow (think 1-5 frames per second depending on resolution). This is the same idea as the usb-to-vga converters already talked about except with the converter and monitor combined. I hate to shoot down neat ideas. :/

I helped a coworker get one of those working with his desktop a few months back. The manufacturer of the internal USB-to-VGA board had only just released limited functionality, beta Mac OS drivers. Performance is terrible, just usable enough to be a third display for palettes.

Last I checked, there was no Linux support whatsoever.

I think some weeks ago to use a tempest method to retrieve image from the itt screen, but hardware to scan frequency and to filter it have an higher price than a small cam to film the screen

EDIT : to be honest i think of using an old webcam to display the screen on a larger screen
