Hello all,

I'd like to know Which cell phone service has the best coverage in Honolulu?

I live in Honolulu and have had problems with my cell phone coverage for a while now. I finally decided to switch and was wondering which service has the best coverage. I've checked the coverage maps for each service, but I've found some of them to be a little inaccurate.

Please help.

Coverage is function of location and number of cell sites. A single CDMA site has a larger coverage area than a GSM site. Tall buildings can reflect cell signals and cause dead spots which can be fixed by adding more cell sites. Coverage maps may be more based on theory than measurement. When you get out into nature you will loose cell coverage. If you were stateside I'd recommend Verizon which is CDMA. Verizon includes the old GTE Mobilenet. Finding friends with different carriers and comparing the number of bars may help you make the best decision for you.

Personally I recommend GSM due to the ability to easily swap SIMs from phone to phone. I have had excellent coverage with AT&T (GSM) in the continental US as well as sister companies (Telcel, Elisa, et al) in other countries.
