I read Andrew Daviel's blog ( http://andrew.daviel.org/n810-blog.html ) and it explained how power saving on wifi worked.

Before I understood the power-saving mode, I always used to change the beacon rate lower than the default as it seemed to me that a fast beacon rate could cause more congestion, not realising that it might slow down the ability of the access point to get hold of the tablet.

I was wondering whether anyone else is in a position to try tweaking their wifi access point's beacon rate and things like long and short preambles to see whether they can improve the battery life?

My home cheapie wndr3300 doesn't allow me to set beacon rate, or at least no so's I can find it, and at work we have a (spit) Apple Airport Extreme which I am loathe to tamper with because it's flakey as hell.
