Can somebody let me know if it is possible (although it reads to be) for Ubuntu apps installed from the Ubuntu Repos to actually be able to Launch in .15? I can apt-get install until the cows come home, but I don't see any icons to launch popping up, and I don't know how to launch them from command. Even a nudge toward the right source would be helpful.

Seriously? Reboot and the launch Icon shows up where? Maybe I tried a couple apps that will never work (NE was one, and castlecombat was another).
Also, where is the manager to relocate launch icons/menus? Do I have to to do that with xterm somehow, or maybe with a file manager? The file manager I have now dumps me out to the main screen a lot, doesn't crash the system tho.
I don't see anything coming as far as .16 or .17 being stable, until all this N900 "stuff" settles down. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm ready to start twiddlin' around in Mer, I think it is closer than many people think to being ready as a mostly stable platform.
Just wading through the Ubuntu Repos would be enough to entice most people, as there are more apps there than you'll ever see in Maemo 5 for years to come. Too bad they aren't sorted by popularity or some other ratings tho, that would help a guy out. Heck, add another dimension to that and rate by popularity per device.
