Any documentation/howtos/examples for doing WRT on Maemo5?

I'm not sure what you mean by WRT. Do you mean Nokia Web Runtime?

Sorry, yes, that's correct.

I want to do a home screen widget using tech that will make it possible to port to, for example, S60 (or whatever it's called now).

Currently Nokia Web Runtime is not slated to be officially supported in Maemo 5 (afaik, so I'd love to be told I'm wrong). But, fyi, coding under Qt should also allow this.

The Nokia Web Runtime is not supported in Maemo 5. There will be more information in the Maemo Summit.

Just for completeness:

The planned coming of Nokia WRT to Maemo was outlined on Maemo Summit 2009. Overall there will be 3 releases of Nokia WRT as alpha, beta and final all coming next year. The alpha arrives at some time in the first quarter as seen on this slide:
