This is really strange. I tried to change my background image, and now the menu isn't opening. And my widgets are dissappearing. If I re-add one, it stays, if I readd another the previous one dissappears.

WHAT THE HELL?!

Does your n900 camera produce hazy "bluish" images?

deleting the desktop file for a wallpaper i downloaded fixed the problem.

desktop files have to be in the name style .mydesktop.desktop

Made the same mistake myself.
