I've just got a N900 from Vodafone UK today. About reports it to be version "1.2009.42-11.205.1"

When I run the Application Manager, it reports that the "Nokia System Software Updates" repository is giving a 404.

The URL it's trying to fetch is "https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/205/./Packages"
(The apt sources line for it is "deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/205 ./")

Anyone have any ideas? I wonder if it might be because I've got a 205 (as seen from the version number above), whilst almost all the other posts I've seen seem to have a 203, with a correspondingly different update url.

That does show I have things set up as they ought to be. My apps repo works just fine. Problem is with the updates one - my URL looks like the one in the post, only with a 205 on the end (since my version string shows 205), and that's the url that's 404ing

I'm having this problem too, all the other catalogs work except the Nokia System Software Updates. I get the error message - https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fr...205/./packages The requested URL returned error : 404.
Can anybody help with this? I've looked on other forums and tried different URL's but nothing works.

205? What region are you in? which country?

You need to ask Nokia to provide your region's firmware.. I'm in the UK and raised a bug to make version 203 available.. it seems you have another version that isn't on the tablets-dev site.. I guess this might be where the problem lies

You're connecting from WiFi? There seems to be some kind of an issue related to connecting to downloads.maemo.nokia.com with WiFi. Atleast some dudes had the same issue in Ireland. Check thread http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=39003&page=17 for more information. Can you try updating through 3G?

I'm in the UK on Vodafone with my 205.

I've just tried connecting over 3g, and I still get the same 404 on the Nokia System Software Updates repository.

Which bit of Nokia would I need to report the bug to, anyone know?

Should the yjust raise a bugzilla report - in the meantime is there a known work-around?
