as I posted in the other thread: this is not google but skyhook wireless.
have you tried to email them? because this is on ovi already http://www.skyhookwireless.com/mapsbooster/
merged or actually deleted the double posts you from the previous thread

An example of the process and source code can be found here and the developer's blog about it can be found here.
The idea is to use this as a personal location tool, a method to locate lost or stolen devices or even to create location aware profiles.
I understand that he iphone and android devices have quite a few versions of this already, but I like my N900 and would rather stick with it.
Please vote and propose solutions to this brainstrom thingy.
