I know it sounds silly - every phone and PDA I've owned has set its time automatically and constantly.

Tne thing is, I haven't yet connected my N900 as a cellphone yet, and I only use it connected to WIFI. Today I looked up and saw that the clock on my N900 is about 7 mintes slow!

Is there an app that will set the clock to some global standard clock or something, like I've had on other devices? Or is it only the phone that will do that? Or something else I'm missing? Thanks much.

Go to clocks and alarms
Click on the time
Select Update automatically
Save

It will automatically update your time when connected to the internet.

I think this feature uses GSM time data sent by base stations to keep up to date, but I'm not sure.
Nevertheless there is opennptd somewhere in extras(-devel?)

Yes, but like I said, I believe that only responds to cellphone info. Is that what you were saying, Elhana?

I'd like it if it did the same thing when connected to WIFI, because apparently it currently doesn't.
