Just found 1 issue with Avatar Crop feature with fw 2.2009.51-1.003 on Nokia N900.

If your image rotated to proper orientation via EXIF information and you crop it to avatar it will be with wrong orientation. Is there any work around? Manual rotation on a device does not help.

If you have exact steps to reproduce (click by click) and if there is no open report yet in bugs.maemo.org, feel free to file one. :-)

I think it might be related to this:
Bugzilla Bug 6632 Background image does not show correct rotation

Not sure if it's the same issue. Step-by-step is following:

1) Make a picture with build-in camera holding it in portrait mode
2) Open picture
3) Select Set as avatar
4) Assign this avatar to a person
5) Open person
6) Picture is not rotated
