I want to flash to the global firmware but i just cannot seem to do it :@
anyone got a decent laptop and able to meet me in central oxford to do it ?

Pinthemap suggests this forum has one person in Oxford (Lewis) and two others close to you west of Witney, alternatively if you're heading in the direction of norwich anytime I can sort you out

Can't help you in Oxford (am in Southampton). However I did initially try flashing under Windows - wouldn't work. I then used my linux (Fedora 12) laptop and it was trivially easy. Done it quite a few times without problems.

What were your original problems? Wondering if running linux under a VM or on a spare partition may help. Of course if unfamiliar it may cause as many problems as it fixes, hence your request!

Alright!
Been meaning to reply to this thread, yet to actually post in this forum.

I haven't actually flashed mine yet but I probably will if PR1.2 is going to be delayed in the UK like 1.1

I'm no expert but it doesn't look too complex, if I figure it out I will let you know.

its a good thing that i flashed mine to the global one when i got the phone!.....its like i knew that the UK firmware will be delayed.
