I can't receive POP3 email automatically through the email client after upgrading to PR 1.2.

I flashed PR 1.2 and this did not correct it.

The problem can't be corrected - I want to go back to the previous firmware so I can receive email again.

I have been helped on Nokia's forum - I was told to flash in this order.

Flash PR 1.2

Then flash this command

flasher-3.5 -F osold.bin --flash-only cmt-mcusw -f (osold.bin is the downloaded firmware PR 1.1.1.)

Then flash the old EMMC (the one that went with PR 1.1.1) and reboot.

Everything went fine - I got the message "completed successfully" after each part of the flash.. but the phone won't reboot. It tries but ends of giving you the message, "The phone can't be used for anything including emergency calls-please try rebooting." You do but the same message occurs.

So now I have been told to flash PR 1.2 - flash the old EMMC (the one that goes with PR 1.1.1 - reboot - then turn the phone off and flash this command...

flasher-3.5 -F osold.bin --flash-only cmt-mcusw -f

I haven't tried this yet... it sounded odd to flash the new firmware with the old EMMC and then run the command with the older firmware??? I wanted to do some more checking but unfortunately everything about flashing is to flash forward not back.

Does anybody have specifics about going back...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Sandy

I flashed it every which way possible and if you get it to boot (which is not easy) it's not a usable phone.

With so many GB's a built in recovery partition would be nice. Then Nokia Care could go home since all they do is flash.

I would never install a new OS on Windows without using Acronis - and I would never upgrade a Mac without CCCloner. Too bad I didn't have something similar for the N900 - certainly would have made things easier. Because "backup" is not enough - you need an image/clone in case of failure. And with no automatic incoming POP3 email - that firmware upgrade to me is a failure.

If somebody searches this in the future - I hope you have better luck than I did.
