The contents of other persons' application/hildon folder won't help you fix everything unless they have the same applications installed as you do. You'll get the basic app icons back, but you'll not get all of them. In addition, your likely to get a lot of icons that correspond to applications not installed on your N900.

Did you install an SSH server to your N900? If so, perhaps you could ssh to the N900 and run a apt-get update, or some kinds of apt-get reinstall that would re-download the apps you have and restore the mission desktop icon files.

thanks alot for the hint

i tried apt-get commands and it didnt fix the missing shortcut

i have to wait for someone to upload the files or it seams that i need to create all .desktop files myself ... the problem is that i dont know the executable files for those apps: phone , contacts, video, photos, camera, calender, email and so on

its deadlock situation for me

Here's mine but do I have Catorize installed so that may be an issue if you haven't. Maybe installing it via apt may help you out in that scenario.
Attached Files
File Type: zip hildon.zip (52.9 KB, 87 views)

I have a PS3 for games, but I did notice Arkanoid is out there somewhere, so I'll take a step into the n900 realm of emulation with that some day.
