On my N800 (with the Community SSU installed), I've entered:
apt-get upgrade
and it reports:
The following packages have been kept back:
libdb4.2 libxml2
The following packages will be upgraded:
hildon-desktop libhildondesktop0 libhildonwm0
3 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
Is this upgrade safe to perform? Is it useful?

Unless you have some really old firmware version... probably not. Since you have the SSU, this will probably break your ability to install another SSU update. You should check out the SSU thread for it. Err... post there.
