Messing with Gnome ALSA Mixer i managed to find a combo of sliders positions and checkboxes that makes the wired headset work like a hearing aid (the audio picked by the mic is amplified and emitted back by the headphones quite loudly).

But i have no idea how to turn those tweaks into a program people can install and fire up whenever they want with volume control and stuff. Anyone up for it?

can be a garage project . a simple slider interface can be enough
sometimes i use front camera as lighted magnifying glass for small details objects

so accessibility suite new project ?
