I want to connect to my n900 through UMTS (or another phone data service)

It seems not to work. (Why?) Not even ping!

I was sure it would work. Because the Browser knows AJAX.

Shouldn't AJAX be able to do such things (connections)?

Is there an AJAX-program that can do that?

Or is there an "online-connector" that can connect to devices with UMTS under "https" security?

You cannot normally connect to devices over UMTS because they're behind a proxy at the carrier side, so no direct connections are possible.

AJAX OTOH has nothing to do with this either. It's just a way to do asynchronous data transfer without reloading the whole webpage.

Maybe a reverse SSH tunnel could help you here, but it would have to be initiated from the N900 at first.
