Well it is no secret Nokia is the world's largest cellphones worldwide, however Nokia has been on a decline since 2008 due to competition from Asian cellphone manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC, LG, and Huawei and rival smartphone platfroms such as Android, Blackberry, and iOs. So if you haven't heard Nokia has a new ceo New Nokia CEO
Some things that could happen
  • Nokia n8 sells by the millions and becomes the phone of choice for photographers.
  • Symbian ^4 the best most elegant Symbian yet.
  • Nokia C6 becomes the defacto smartphone of choice for first time smarthphone users.
  • MeeGo a revolution for mobile computing.
  • Nokia n9 gains early adopters and outsells the Nokia n95 and Nokie e71.
  • Nokia fixes there problem in the North America and Nokia's replace Android devices as carrier flagships.
OR the flipside
  • Nokia n8 fails to meet sales expectations and loses millions of dollars in development and manufacturing costs.
  • Symbian ^4 more of the same
  • MeeGo yet another failed Linux based platform.
  • Nokia fails to bring Nokia n9 to market
  • Nokia fails to fix there problem in North America.
  • In response to Nokia's problem in North America they make and end up being yet another Android phone manufacturer.
  • Ovi the door closes.
  • Due to past failures Nokia is acquired by Samsung, HTC, LG, or Huawei.
Or business as usual.

Its possible... but unlikely. I would like to see that happen, though.

Highly unlikely. The best bet would be for it to sell well and get good reviews to prove that MeeGo is a viable smartphone OS. The n9 won't be the bestseller, but it could be the gateway to bestsellers in the future.

Unlikely, simply because Carriers don't like Nokia and its refusal to bow to carrier demands. That said, if there's demand, there's a way.

Oh I'm sure it will be purchased in droves and will be profitable in the end. It just won't be a runaway success.

Hopefully not. Depends on how many devices it gets put onto in its first year or two.

Last I checked, Windows has over 70% of the computer market. Having a huge share does not mean you are above reproach.

Why not discuss it in the other threads about Nokia's CEO's?
