You know, when I connect to Wi-Fi, which is my PC there too,

my N900's media shows my PC's name in the bottom.

(HABINS: Administrator)(Win 7)

and I enter there, there's nothing. I tried share with homegroup things, nothing really works.

any idea? is anyone really using this function?

sorry for my short English.

I think you're supposed to share stuff within Windows Media Player. It will then show up there, I think. Otherwise you could use TVersity, I think it have DLNA which the built-in media player support.

you need to give it permission, there is a media sharing option in network settings. the will be unknown device on the network if you give it access it will show up on n900. best way to see the option is leave media play running and goto "network" on pc.

Having issues here if anyone can help.

- My media sharing is turned on in my windows media player (v.11) but my N900 does not show any wifi/network in its media player.

Both are connected to the same wifi wirelessly. can anyone think what i might be missing?

If you are indeed referring to expecting to see the N900 as a media sharing device like you can see the PCs on the N900, as far as I know the N900 DOESN'T do this.

It would be a huge security issue (as it would share over any WiFi connection you used and potentially over GPRS too) and drain the battery fast, as I believe uPNP uses broadcasting so it would keep WiFi alive all the time draining battery power.
