My phone only shows desktop and icons, which when i click them nothing happens, and when i click the menu in the top right nothing shows. also if i receive a message, my previous message history isnt there only the one received... and not sure if one of my partitions are corrupted as my contacts still come up when i start typing letters from the desktop. Any ideas besides a reflash?

Before you reflash, would you show us the output of maemo-list-user-packages?
