I decided to see what would happen if I clicked the HELP button for contacting customer care (when getting the download error for Flash Player) (I am on PR 1.1 and it will not download). I got this response.

Not shocking, but still....feels kind of douchey.

What are you asking them, I've found ways around it. I'm hesitant to publicly post it up though.

Is there any way you can go through an EU site? Do you have a friend/relative who could act as a land address, if need be? The reason i ask is that despite not being "marketed" in many states, it is for sale in the EU so the same rules must apply throughout. What was in your initial message?

Also, I think the EU consumer protection rules are more rigorous than those of North America, so while the above attitude is what we've all come to expect, hopefully the infrastructure will prevent such "douchy" outcomes.

My initial message just asked for help downloading/installing the Flash Player.
I know people will say: just flash it. But I *really* don't want to screw it up. I flashed my N900 several times, but the N9 is a different animal--seems much harder and picky-er. And I can't even seem to get Navifirm to open...so stopped there. (I don't know Windows well, since I use only Macs and sometimes Ubuntu).
I should have just stuck with my N900.

For the record, use NavifirmEx
https://code.google.com/p/navifirmex/

It works in Wine.

Thanks for the reminder on NavifirmEx. But the list for firmwares does not include the number from my SIM tray, so I am leery of just choosing one....as the sticky thread (for flashing) says it is 'safer' if it matches. Just don't want to roll dice on this.

Romaxa's currently looking at making Fennec 10.02 + FP10.1 available for 1.1 users
No promises, something he's looking into though...
