Well I can't tell you anything to speed up your phone, you seam to know all I do.But there are things like status bar extension, physical button control, and swipe manager which increase the speed you get around. Not the actaul speed though.
Try swipe manager, it lets you choose what each side of the screen does when swiped from. Very helpful.
