Hi,

what is way to add wifi antenna connector to Nokia 800
not having to dismantle a unit into pieces,
to extend wifi connectivity range for hotspots ?

I am looking for a smart hack to add wifi connector.

Interesting question, would like to see an answer as well, please

I also want to use this chance to ask how the WiFi card in general is ? I heard it is almost notebook like. Since the WiFi connection is the number one reason to buy an internet tablet I insist on a strong wifi card.

As far as I can tell, it is as good as a notebook. I have Macbook Pro and a couple of cheap Acers, and it sees roughly the same networks at the same signal strengths. It doesn't seem to like 802.1x authentication, and has been known to not like 802.1n networks though.

Without taking the device apart and soldering on your own antenna, its not possible.

^^^ What he said. The nice thing about the N800 is it's portable. Move closer to the access point.

I don't have any problems with my airport express at home.

Careful, you'll jinx yourself!! I don't normally bad mouth Apple, since they are technically my bread and butter, but the airports suck ***. I have 2 express base stations in my house, both have their radios turned off. They're just music extenders for me.
